Central Coast

The Central Coast of NSW is a playground for all people, young and old! Predominantly built on the surfing and fishing culture, the Central Coast has so much more to offer. The south meeting the northern bank of the Hawkesbury and the North meeting the south bank of Lake Macquarie provides a huge area to explore and discover, with inlets and waterways found throughout the landscape. Scattered along the Eastern Coast are little beachside communities enjoying the salt air and cruisy lifestyle that accompanies this holiday hotspot. Getaway Caravan Hire Central Coast are here to highlight a few of the best and most family friendly attractions in the local area, hopefully making your trip planning easier.

Getaway Caravan and camping Hire Central Coast have been weekend warriors collecting helpful hints and delightful experiences to help with building your perfect holiday itinerary. Below we have listed a few cool things to see, do, eat and where to stay to do the lot!

WHERE TO PARK

Head to Mount Penang Parklands with a picnic or stuff to through on the communal barbecues. Have a wander around the beautiful surrounds and immerse yourself in the sunshine and manicured gardens for the day. Those thrill seekers looking for a little bit more might take up the Jet-Pack experience, a truly unique one to take back to school for show and tell!

Head to The Distillery for an array of beautifully infused botanical beverages to delight the senses. With amazing gardens full of herbs and Australian Native Botanicals, you are sure to remember this place for the smells alone. Duck in to the main building to see the distilling process and taste the infused spirits. Best to drop in and keep on keeping on your journey.

Hardy’s Bay Club is a great family attractor with a big grassy area out the back, safe for the rugrats to roll around. With a broad menu and a host of locally made craft beers and wines, this is one relaxed dining experience you’ll probably repeat. Being fed my award winning chefs in a great relaxed setting makes for a great place to meet up with other holidaying friends – without the clean up.

Have a devonshire tea at the Waterfall Cafe at Mt Penang Parklands. One for anyone with a sweet tooth or a nice thing to do with just the ladies in the family, experience the finest petite fours and brilliantly brewed pots of tea.

Head to any of the coastal towns and you’ll find a cruisy, relaxed environment. Head to Woy Woy to catch a flathead for dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf, or head to Umina for some beachfront fishing. Let the kids feed the pelicans at The Entrance, after a skate at the local park, or a ride along the bike path. Head up to Crackneck Lookout for a view out over Bateau Bay, be sure to take lunch and water… it’s a bit of a toughie, but well worth it!

Hire a boat (if licensed) and teach the kids to sail in a laser sailboat on the beautiful glass like Lake Macquarie. Or maybe have a picnic in one of the excellent parklands on the peninsular.

The Entrance is an excellent place to base yourself at the south end of the Central Coast. Very kind to families and couples alike, the view from the park there can give you water front views with the pelicans at your very back door, ready for a belly full of bread.

Sun Valley tourist park can be a good one for families as you can do as much as you please – including going for a surf, fishing from the rocks, going on a charter trip fishing, take a hit of gold or a bike ride. Alternatively, you can equally do as little as you please – things like beach walks, heading for a picnic, sun bathing, read a good book on the sand, or take in the sights. There’s something for everyone who hires a caravan for their holiday on the Central Coast.
